To submit an abstract to the EUROPT(R)ODE 2014 conference, you will need to select a topic for your abstract from the following list:
1.    Fluorescence Sensors
2.    Gas Sensors
3.    Integrated Optics
4.    Lab on a chip
5.    Label-free sensors
6.    SERS & Plasmonics
7.    Surface Chemistry & Biofunctionalization
8.    Other optical detection systems

Working language: English.

Submission process:
Abstracts should be submitted at http://www.europtrode2014.eu/abstracts.php
until November 18, 2013.

Abstracts must be submitted in PDF form only. Once abstracts are formally submitted, you will be issued a reference number. You will be able to revise the content of your abstract until the abstract submission is closed. You will be notified regarding acceptance or rejection by January 13, 2014.

When submitting your abstract to the EUROPT(R)ODE 2014 conference, you will need to prepare
1.    A two-columned one-page ‘full abstract’ to be reviewed by the International Program Committee.
2.    A ‘short summary’ (up to 100 words), to be included in the program guide of the conference should your abstract be accepted. The short summary should be typed in the specified region of the online submission system and not within the full abstract template.

Abstract guidelines:

The ‘full abstract’ must be written in English. It is a single-page abstract (landscape A4) in two-column format. The first column should be text only and the second column should contain references, tables, formulas, graphs or images.
The first column must necessarily include:
1. Title of the contribution (Calibri Bold 10pt)
2. Family and first names, (Calibri 9pt)
3. Affiliation names and addresses of all contributing authors (Calibri Italic 8pt)
4. The e-mail address of the corresponding author. This is not necessarily the first author, or the presenting author. (Calibri 8pt)
5. The abstract font should be Calibri, size 8 point. The text line spacing should be ‘single spaced’.

The abstract may be submitted in PDF format only, with a maximum file size of size 4MB. Scanned PDF files are not allowed. Files must be created using a PDF-distiller and all fonts must be embedded. The file must not contain any form of security, bookmarks, or links, or multiple files within a single PDF file.

Short summary:
The ‘short summary’ must be uploaded in TXT format with a maximum length of 100 words. Please do not include tables, figures or references. Furthermore, please do not include any additional information such as the title, list of authors, etc. This information will be collected separately in the abstract submission process.
